Subject: Powder Mountain Development plans before the Planning Commission

We have an opportunity to help Weber County grow and increase economic development. As we all know, Weber County is having great success in getting skiing and outdoor recreation companies to relocate to our community. Powder Mountain Resort has announced plans for further development including ski quality and capacity, resort housing and additional recreation. This could further enhance industry recognition and further make Ogden/Weber County a destination for year around tourism bringing millions of dollars to our economy.

Powder Mountain has the largest ski-able acreage in the country and is consistently rated in the top five resorts nationally for snow and value. The natural features of Powder Mountain are unsurpassed in North America -imagine carving first tracks in serenity, buoyed by 500 annual inches of Utah's famous dry champagne powder -or golfing overlooking a gorgeous green valley 2,000 feet below. The vastness and variety of Powder Mountain's potential terrain; the openness of its vista with 360 degree panoramas, and the pristine quality of the land set Powder Mountain apart from all other resorts.

In spite of these riveting qualities, Powder Mountain is the best-kept secret in Utah skiing however; the future of Powder Mountain is not only about skiing. The site is proposed as a year-round resort with equally outstanding conditions and terrain for spring, summer, and fall and winter recreation. Two 18-hole signature golf courses and miles of mountain biking and hiking trails share the focus of the expansion master plan with the ski mountain, as well as an equestrian center and a village area.

The Powder Mountain proposal is before Planning Commission Tuesday, requesting approval for a rezone to make this expansion possible. The Planning Commission will be hearing public comment that day, and we would love for your support of this project to be voiced at this meeting.
