Resolution No: 2007-10-16
Whereas, many real property owners in the Town of Huntsville had the 2006 and 2007 real
property valuations substantially increased by the Weber County Assessor,
and whereas, resident D-Bell and Councilman Richard Sorensen as representatives of “Utah Wingmen for Property Tax Reform” have helped Huntsville residents with appeals of their assessments, taking into account that there have been a limited number of real property sales at substantially increased amounts,
and whereas they are actively working to create a change in the Utah Property tax system to an Acquisition Value based tax system,
and whereas the Utah Wingmen are networking and forming alliances with other such groups throughout the state,
Now therefore, the Huntsville Town Council hereby supports all efforts for property tax reform, to obtain real property tax relief for real property owners in the Town of Huntsville.
